Amy Stubbe's BioI am currently a Senior at Bellevue University working on my bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts. My work does not have one specific, clearly defined style, but moves fluidly between representation, abstraction, and narrative. I believe this reflects my attitude preferring not to be limited or restricted by a need to create a consistent style and body of work. Despite the variety of techniques, there are common threads that connect my work such as my fascination with the visual world, pattern, color, shape, and volume. I like my work to show expression, and emotion, each one is a reflection of the way I perceive the world at that moment. I am truly committed to art and the discovery of new ideas and techniques. I very seldom plan any of my works, but instead allow them to evolve as I work. This method allows me to keep my works fresh and immediate. This applies to all the mediums I work in, be-it painting, sculpture, ceramics, watercolor, drawing, or pastels. I find that within our beings, moment by moment, each of us holds the ability to see and create beauty. Amy Stubbe's Gallery |
