Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo - (402) 733-8400

The best zoo I have ever been to by far. A++ in all catagories. If your travels take you anywhere near Omaha, you have to stop.

What a place! Lots of extras you wouldn't expect at a zoo in a town the size of Omaha. A somewhat small, but very well done Aquarium, with a walk-through shark and stingray tank. Top-notch exhibits from desert to swamp habitats, sea lions, and a real steam engine pulling the zoo train. We were barely able to see it all in one day, and you might want to take two days if you can.

The Doorily zoo was great! The Desert Dome was amazing but the lower level nocturnal world was even better. And don't forget the okapi. We love okapis. And what can be more surreal than penguins and giraffes in the same exhibit? Make sure to give this zoo the better part of the day.
